After several thousand votes, Houston, we have a man of the year! Our 2017 man of the year is none other than Billionaire restaurateur, entrepreneur, TV Host of Billion Dollar Buyer, and philanthropist Tilman Fertitta!

This year, the HFR team worked diligently at narrowing down our choices for the Man of the Year and narrowed down the list to 3 remarkable men, who were each deserving of holding the title in different ways.  Our three finalists were businessman/restaurant entrepreneur/Billion Dollar Buyer TV show host Tilman Fertitta, businessman/car dealership entrepreneur Alan Helfman, and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

It is important to note that while they each do extensive work and philanthropy that positively influences the 4th (almost 3rd) largest city in America no matter how busy they are, our online readers voted in a poll, and Fertitta took the lead with a total of 42% (4,699) of the total votes.

Final Vote Tally

Tilman Fertitta previously made our Top 15 Fittest Billionaires in America list with his impressive fitness levels. He works out at least three times a week, runs outdoors, plays tennis regularly, and makes a conscious effort to eat healthy. In addition to this, he offers fitness perks to his corporate employees, who all have access to a 3,000 square foot fitness facility on the Landry’s campus.

This is what Health Fitness Revolution founder Samir Becic had to say of the fit entrepreneur: “Tilman Fertitta is putting Houston on the national and international map. Not only is he doing so with his hit TV show but also as one of the largest sole restaurant owners in the world whose restaurants are catering to a healthy lifestyle. This means you can order anything you want and they will accommodate you. Great respect to this extraordinary man.”

Samir and everyone at Health Fitness Revolution would like to congratulate all of the nominees on all of their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck in next year’s running!
