My Statement on Bob Harper’s Heart Attack – Samir Becic

A few days ago, on February 12th, celebrity trainer Bob Harper suffered a heart attack. He was reportedly working out at a New York City gym when he collapsed and was unconscious in the hospital for two days. Now alert and recovering, the host of The Biggest Loser says he is still in shock about what happened but is aware that heart problems run in his family, his own mother died of a heart attack several years ago.

Since then, both on TV and radio, I’ve been getting asked a lot about Bob Harper and his heart attack… many people are now doubting healthy lifestyle. This is my answer: healthy lifestyle is the best thing that can happen to humanity. But healthy lifestyle means balance in everything. Small moves towards achieving goals. Bob Harper, like many fitness professionals and athletes, go extreme and might be born with genetic predispositions that can be triggered by very intense workouts. So, my philosophy remains: moderate physical fitness, healthy nutrition, mental, social, and spiritual balance are the key components towards a fulfilled, happy, and healthy life.
