Samir Becic and the Health Fitness Revolution team is bringing your our list of the 10 Fittest Hollywood Actresses. These celebrities are household names and we chose them in order to motivate everyone to be healthier, fitter, and more balanced.  We chose them based on their fitness levels and body type- we recognize that not everyone is built the same with regards to their heritage and cultural background. We made sure that all of them use natural means to be healthy and fit!

We first researched all the available data on popular actresses online and narrowed it down to 100. Then, we did more extensive research to narrow it down 50, 25, and then finally 10. We used a combination of interviews, internet, library, industry literature, and Samir Becic’s knowledge of over 33 years in athletics coupled with his experience as 4 times Number 1 Fitness Trainer in the World.

The actresses on this list not only lead healthy lifestyles themselves, but also promote healthy lifestyle to their fans.

The following was all taken into consideration: fitness level, nutritional habits, age, their own medical issues and how they coped with them, and involvement and promotion of healthy lifestyle in general. Here are the Top 10 from Health Fitness Revolution and author of the book ReSYNC Your Life Samir Becic:

Jessica Biel

jessica biel

Jessica combines walking lunges, sprinting, cardio workouts, and yoga. Her trainer has her do a lot of plyometrics in an intense workout that lasts under and hour. She also loves going for hikes and jogs with her dogs and instead of treating that activity as pure cardio, she focuses on the mental health benefits of bonding with her pups in nature “It keeps me very…clearheaded, and it helps me to refresh,” she says.

“For me, getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water, having a healthy diet, and staying away from alcohol are musts. It’s so boring, I know, but doing those things really helps.”

She eats a lot of vegetables, and grain proteins. She is a fan of fermented veggies and probiotics also, which she considers great for her skin and digestion.

Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda, at 76, is a true life testament to the fact that healthy lifestyle keeps one young, vibrant, and balanced.

“It’s important to exercise when you’re younger,” Fonda says. “It’s the No. 1 ingredient for successful aging. It makes a difference for all aspects of your life and your body. I know what exercise has done to my life profoundly — not just my body, but my mind. I do what makes me feel good.”

As she has gotten older, Jane transitioned from the rigorous, high-impact aerobic exercise she extolled during the 1980s to gentler, lower-impact workouts. Fonda does yoga, strength-trains, walks, cycles, and uses the elliptical trainer. Since she has adopted a more laid-back approach to fitness, she makes a concerted effort to eat well. She says she eats by color, something dark green, dark purple, red, orange, yellow, white, because they all have different vitamins and minerals in them.

Cameron Diaz

Cameron-Diaz

Cameron Diaz is 41 and has never looked- or felt- better! She feels so empowered that she hopes to help other women change their lives the same way – the main motivator to write her recently published book The Body Book where she delves into the science behind why she looks and feels so amazing.

“I fell into fitness by accident,” says Cameron. “But it’s become something I depend on physically and emotionally. I feel so much more empowered now. I want women to know that it’s never too late to start paying attention to their bodies.”

Diaz is honest about not going to the gym every day, but says she stays consistent overall. She is a fan of outdoor exercise and loves hiking, jogging, and surfing. She is a big proponent of eating clean and while she used to love fast food, she now treats it like it’s poison.

Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu is known for kicking butt in such flicks as Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill, for which she trained intensely for eight hours a day, five days a week. But in real life, she says that it’s her pilates instructor that is kicking her butt at the age of 44.  She says 10 years of pilates has not only changed her body, but her outlook on life and how she sees herself.

“When I’m exercising, I’m not as likely to eat sweets and junk food because I tend to feel really good about myself and my body, so I don’t want to ruin it.”

In terms of cardio, she has found that running is the fastest way to lose weight- so she runs while watching Downton Abbey, and increases the speed a little at a time, decreases it, and then raises it again. Each time, she motivates herself by saying, “Just another 0.2 mile.” Her healthy diet is as follows: she has only juice before noon, usually made with bananas and berries. If she’s really hungry she might have a breakfast burrito with spinach, a fried egg, and tomatoes. For dinner she has fish with steamed vegetables or a salad.

 Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes, 37, says she hits the gym three to four times a week to do light weights for an hour – not too many repetitions – which target her whole body, and some serious cardio – normally sprinting and interval running for a minimum of 35 minutes. She also does yoga twice a week to loosen her up from her training.

“I focus on the inside out – so it’s all about what I’m eating, how I’m feeding my body and how much water I’m drinking. I don’t eat meat, but I eat a lot of fish and brown rice. “

Eva Mendes eats healthy and uses a rule of thumb of “eating dark” when it comes to carbs- meaning brown, whole wheat varieties of complex carbohydrates.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman loves all kinds of fitness including running, spinning, yoga, swimming- all of which she does to stay in shape. She has said that she comes from a marathon running family in Australia, and that she loves just putting on music and running in the woods. She does regular 55-minute Pilates sessions and a weekly spinning class, and favors cardio workouts on a cross trainer.

“Over the years I’ve realized that if you don’t have your health, you’ve got nothing. So that comes first. And how do you get that when you have two little kids, and a husband, and a lot of work? I work for balance now. I do yoga, and I run, and I meditate. I take really good care of myself and I eat well.”

She has said that when she tours with her musician husband, Keith Urban, she finds it difficult to avoid all the temptation of the junk food on the road, so her aim is to eat 80% percent healthy at all times.

Halle Berry

Halle-Berry-Bikini-Arm-Workout

Halle Berry’s workout is known for shocking Oprah- not because of it’s intensity- but rather because of it’s simplicity! While filming, she often only has 25 minutes to workout, so we will fit a workout in that time, but do it at least 5 times a week. In the 25 min she will do five minutes of each: warm-up, upper-body strength training, lower-body moves, core-training exercises and fat-burning cardio work. When she does have more time, she loves doing kick-boxing, which is a great mix of strength training and cardio, and her lifestyle choices have made this 47 year old look half her age. Berry, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1989, follows a low-carb that features lots of vegetables, lean proteins and very little sugar.

“I do not love to work out,” Halle previously told Vogue. “But if I stick to exercising every day and put the right things in my mouth, then my diabetes just stays in check.”

Gwyneth Paltrow

She is known for her strict diet and rigorous exercise regime and at the age of forty, she doesn’t have a wrinkle or spot of cellulite in sight. Gwyneth follows a super healthy macrobiotic diet – says that scheduling in a detox is very important but also stresses the importance of programmed indulging once in a while.

“I often have a glass of red wine in the evening and smoke a cigarette on a Saturday. I love those moments because they are just the right amount of naughty. That balance keeps you vibrant. You have to live your life, after all”

She gives lifestyle advice through her popular blog, Goop; and in December 2013, she announced that she would be releasing a workout series with her trainer Tracy Anderson this year.

Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman, 43, stated her career as a model but transitioned into a butt-kicking successful actress in movies such as Kill Bill. To train for Kill Bill, she took up the Wushu martial arts training, which made her lose 25 lbs and turn her into a real athlete.

“Training gives me a kind of pleasure from the physical activity and exerting myself and pushing myself that I’d never had before.”

And although Uma hated yoga when she first started, she is now hooked and tries to get an hour in whenever she can; she often also does Pilates. She also loves exercising outdoors, including horseback riding, skiing and snowboarding. In terms of nutrition, she follows the Paleolithic Diet, which means she avoids all dairy, and gluten.

Jennifer Anniston

Jennifer-Aniston-by-Mark-Seliger

Aniston’s training philosophy that blends the mind and the body is what keeps this 45 year-old looking and feeling young! Jennifer uses a combination of yoga, spinning, and toners, really focusing on developing a better connection to her mind, emotions, and body.

“It’s simple. I run, work out every day,” Aniston has said in interviews.

When training for her role as a stripper in We’re the Millers, she stuck to a strict diet of vegetables, lean proteins, and occasional kale chips! Since her role, she still sticks to a healthy, balanced diet, and has said she avoids carbohydrates to keep her body looking toned.
