5 Tips for Men to Lower Heart Attack Risks

Men are more likely to develop cardiac problems or suffer from heart attacks. The good news is that the number of men suffering from heart attacks can be lower with the right balance of diet and exercise. Here are 5 tips for men:

Stop smoking. People who did not smoke lower their risk by 36%  of getting a heart attack.

Get active and do something. Men who cycled or walked for at least 40 minutes a day and did at least one hour of exercise per week had a 3 percent lower risk.

Maintain a healthy weight. Men who had a waist circumference below 37 inches had a 12 percent lower risk.

Don’t drink. Men who drank no more than 2 drinks per day had an 11 percent lower risk.

Men who consumed plenty of vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, and reduce-fat dairy products along with whole grains and fish had an 18 percent lower risk.

These are five simple things that men could start doing to lower their risk of heart attack and begin their path of living a healthy lifestyle.
