Soda is bad for you and if you’re not convinced enough yet, here’s another reason to cut them out of your diet!

Everyone these days want to have better looking skin. We want great skin as we get older and we want to have flawless skin.  As you know, soda has a lot of sugars in it what can cause inflammatory effects on the body. This is manifested by the skin does not glowing or looking bright. Instead, the skin ends up looking saggy and dull.

According to Dr. Steven Victor,a dermatologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York city, “soda is a factor in the aging process of the skin because the body produces all kinds of inflammatory products.”

Many dark sodas, like Coke or Dr. Pepper, also contain advance glycation end products (AGEs).  The National Institutes of Health (NIH) determined, in a recent study, that AGEs react with protein, lipids and nucleic acids in almost all skin cells meaning that AGEs contribute to accelerated skin aging. In addition to this, the caffeine found in the soda can also dehydrate skin, which can emphasize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The good news? This can be easily be reversed by cutting out sugary drinks and replacing them with water. Your body and skin need water to stay hydrated and once you switch you will see what a difference  by just consuming water makes on your skin.
